"I don't give a whit for the simplicity that comes before complexity. But I'll pay a lot for the simplicity that comes after complexity. "

- Oliver Wendell Holmes

"Our team was making decisions without taking how it would affect the whole organization. The Team Type Report woke us up!"

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The most widely used personality inventory in the world, the MBTI® instrument provides an accurate picture of a person's personality type. The MBTI® instrument determines preferences on four dichotomies:

  • Extraversion-Introversion (describes where people prefer to focus their attention and get their energy-from the outer world of people and activity or their inner world of ideas and experiences)
  • Sensing-Intuition (describes how people prefer to take in information-focused on what is real and actual or on patterns and meanings in data)
  • Thinking=Feeling (describes how people prefer to make decisions-based on logical analysis or guided by concern for their impact on others)
  • Judging-Perceiving (describes how people prefer to deal with the outer world-in a planned orderly way, or in a flexible spontaneous way

Combinations of these preferences) result in 16 distinct personality types. Understanding characteristics unique to each personality type, provides insight on how they influence an individual's way of communicating and interacting with others. The MBTI® Step II (Form Q) instrument drills down and details 20 facets of the preferences for more in-depth personality type understanding.

Myers-Briggs Team Type Reports

Usually used as a DFA tool for team development, we can support a manager or group leader in developing a thriving and cooperative team with this powerful tool.

The Team Report is based on data collected from individual MBTI feedback on team members. It provides a description of the group's type, its strengths and weaknesses, and its problem-solving and conflict management styles, and offers a personalized action plan to improve team productivity. It also supplies information on the similarities and differences among the group members to help build an effective, productive, and satisfied team. Any certified user of the MBTI can obtain this through DFA. The group facilitator also receives a Workshop Leader's Report to assist in any team-building session planning.
